Always ask before touching another person or their things. This is A.O.R.T.A.'s first ideal and it's most important. All other ideals are built upon the idea that you are the source of happiness at this event. As an adult, you are the person in charge of your own self.
Communication
The second half of consent. When communication is finished then all people will respect the decisions of participants and follow through with the wishes they have for their own bodies and property. Leave room for everyone. Make a way so anyone, any ‘you’ can walk up and feel like they have a place to stand.

Individuality
The cornerstone of consent. I am my own person, I will provide for myself, clean up after myself, and support others ability to do the same. I will not allow others to intimidate or force me into a situation in which I am uncomfortable. I will be the best version of me I can be and not hide in the crowd.
Contribution
The Belief that we want our life and the lives of those around us to be better because we are part of them. That by participating in this event and others like it we are adding beauty and happiness to the world.
Generosity
An understanding that sometimes we are not always at our best. By helping others we can cause ourselves and those we help to be better than if we had done nothing. A part of contribution and precursor to market independence.
Market Independence
We require no person to delegate our interests, needs, or desires. No amount of advertising can manipulate our wish to be closer connected to nature and our friends. Please leave your money making schemes at the office where they belong.
Self Sufficiency
I make a promise to myself to never be a burden to another. I may not always succeed, because I know I am not perfect, but I will still make my best effort. I will be prepared for the scenarios of the near future and adapt to unexpected situations.
Leave No Trace
I will leave every place I enter as good as I found it. I desire nothing to come to harm based upon my actions. Due to my presence the planet and all life on it are better off.
